Today's offering is quick and easy. It's another healthy option to what's offered at the stores and the smells you can create on your own are much more appealing than the chemically laden powders available for purchase. So, earlier I shared my laundry soap recipe on the Recipe For Anarchy page via Facebook. Then I went about my day and powdered the rugs with this great little concoction that is equally awesome, inexpensive and simple! We have dogs and they smell like, well, dogs! Granted they smell like cedar these days with the warding off of fleas and tics but still, I like to freshen up the house without using harsh chemicals. How? It's easy, it's natural and it's inexpensive. Win/Win for all! I make enough for a large mason jar. 1 1/2 cups baking soda 1 1/2 cups borax 1 tablespoon of dried and rubbed rosemary 1 tablespoon dried lavender (or other aromatic herbs) or Drops of essential oils (lavender and rosemary or any you choose) Add the powders to your jar, add your dried herbs or oils or both. I recently made one using dried rosemary and lavender essential oils. Give a good shake and let sit overnight. I took the mason jar snap lid and poked holes through carefully. Shake it onto your carpet, let it sit and vacuum it up! No muss, no fuss, just something you can feel good about creating and using. Got a recipe to share?
