Re: No gods, no masters
I will never push my beliefs on anyone. I will share and if you do not appreciate then please don't harm yourself with my words that do not resonate. It's not a god or master I worship, but that which I can touch feel, see, and work with in my daily life.
There are several ways to explain how I move in this world. Some would like to label my ways, even I needed to at one time. Some call me Pagan, but I don't think that is it at all. Some say I am heathen....meh. Animist sounds more correct but truly, I have no label. I draw from many sources and I am careful in my process. I have no one tribe but many. I come from more than one blood. I come from more than one culture. But the Wheel of the Year, the stars and Seasons, they are the same all the World through.
Today is a day I look forward to more than most. Today the promise of the Spring is begins to show itself ever so slightly. The Lady I refer to is the Earth, who sleeps soundly, tending to her seeds, nurturing the soils.
Today she begins to stir, to warm. If you look on the trees, see their branches and take moment. Do you notice how they have changed, despite the cold snows that have coated them? The saps are beginning to run. Spring is stirring in the depths of the Earth's belly and soon, we will have the promise of New Life.
Instead of sharing my writing this time, I want to share another's.
I read this a couple of days ago and it moved me. I felt it grow inside me. I felt the words as if they were my own.
This holiday is also known as Candlemas, or Brigid's (pronounced BREED) Day. One of the 4 Celtic "Fire Festivals. Commemorates the changing of the Goddess from the Crone to the Maiden. Celebrates the first signs of Spring. Called "Imbolc" (the old Celtic name) and also celebrated in Germanic faiths and others.
It is a day for the Creatrix and all of creations. Protecting the Sun, the Sacred Fires. Whatever you see this day as, to you, I wish you well and send my blessings, no different than other days, yet incredibly sacred to me and many. Following the ways of this Earth, the stars, the Seasons, it's more fulfilling than the calendar strewn with holy days that connect us to nothing but the material. I need more, crave more, desire more and must do more.
Blessings to you on this day and always.
The Lady, she stirs, can you feel her in you?
I am Imbolc, The Dream of Awakening
"I am the sap rising in the blossom tree just before it reveals its sticky buds to the sky; I am the riotous celebration humming away beneath the earth’s mantle of frozen sleep.
I am the rousing of the bee from its winter slumber and the soft pad of the mother-wolf’s paw on the snow as she prepares to birth her pups.
I am hope, potential, rebirth and promise. I am the kindling breath which transforms the flicker of inspiration in your creative core into a blazing torch."
It is the simplest, most intricate events in this life that cultivate slowly to make the greatest things happen. These small weavings through time are a treasures we often overlook. Walk each moment in a way that leaves you whole and not wanting. Not always the way it goes but surely the way most rewarding, most memorable and most pleasing when hindsight sits at your feet, beckoning you to understand the lesson.
