This time of year brings out the best in me. Maybe it's because I was born in the Spring and my soul just awakens to the warmth of the Sun, the chirping birds and the return of green grasses and dark, rich mud. Maybe I'm just excited about the growth to come. Truly I'm just thrilled that the Winter is over and I once again feel free in a way I don't necessarily feel through the snow and cold. The Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere is one day away and I am truly, like a seed or bud, about to burst!
In September of 2012, I had an idea for a documentary that would have the past guests of Lifting the Veil with Cari-Lee discussing their thoughts and ideas about the world post-2012. There was so much hype leading up to the year that I was curious to see how several of my guests had felt and what they foresaw coming in the future.
I wrote the idea down oh a coffee-stained restaurant napkin and approached Veil's interview video editor to see if he would be interested in putting something like this together with me. We both agreed that the idea was a good one, however, being new to making documentaries we didn't realize the time we weren't allowing ourselves. There was no way this would be done before 2013. So I set out with an email to past guests asking them to speak out problems and their solutions and waited to see how the idea would be received. They replied with excitement and were supportive about the idea. The editor added a couple of new folks to Veil that agreed to join in on the collaboration. It all fell into place.
What we ended up with was an honest, open and clear sense of what each person found the most important to discuss about the problems and solutions we are faced with in this day and age.. As I collected the recordings, work was done diligently by Veil's editor who worked on setting the voices to music and visuals to create the film Unveiled and Lifted.
Why bring this up now?
With Spring being just a day away, I am rife with Spring fever and yet, I'm unable to get out and dig in the dirt. I'll be starting to germinate seeds very soon. Still a little more inspiration is always welcome. As we come out of our caves and stretch out a big old yawn after the long, cold winter, it's nice to be able to spend a rainy day and take advantage of watching a film that will encourage everything Recipe For Anarchy stands for. I sat last night and revisited the film for myself and for me, it was a dose of what the Healer ordered.
I'm encouraging the readers to take some time and watch or re-watch this film. As I did, I reawakened some great ideas I had let go dormant within me. I truly hope you will find inspiration as we Spring forward into the new cycle of 2015. This is an incredible time we are living in and its time we live within this time accordingly.

Focusing on self empowerment, self rule, individualism and 'being the change', Unveiled and Lifted offers thoughts from an eclectic array of authors, filmmakers, artists and freethinkers on government, schooling, parenting and the non aggression principle, religion and spirituality, agorism, anarchism, and other relevant topics and concepts that need to be addressed and expressed during these changing times.
