'But the child that is born on the Sabbath day Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.' The Sun's Day. The day of rest through cultures everywhere. The Sun. Whether you call it Amaterasu, Apollo, or Ra. What does it mean? Power. Glory. Illumination. Life force. Vitality. The source of life on earth. An important part of mythology, art, and literature, the Sun also represents a psychological principle that transcends time and place. You might say that the Sun is symbolic of our ability to direct our will and to have a sense of purpose. The Sun comes with clarity, vitality and a sense of well-being while we are given a climate in this day of optimal energies for soaking up some social warmth with our family and friends as we relax and rest up for the week ahead. The Sun is all about radiance, sharing, expressing, expanding, illumination and growth as it assures us that life as we know it will continually move forward. The Sun is also about foundations, preparation, and supply, as it makes sure of the continuation of life as we know it. Sunday energies include rest, relaxing, having fun with loved ones, gardening, grocery shopping, cooking and worship for the purpose of illumination which is why we see so many going to Church this day although many others wish to worship from their own sacred altars in their homes. Sunday Energies and the Influence of the Sun
The Sun is represented by the color gold which is the color of success, achievement, and triumph. Associated with abundance and prosperity, luxury and quality, prestige and sophistication, value and elegance, the psychology of this color implies affluence, material wealth, and extravagance. It's a masculine energy and the power of the Sun is strengthened by it. This life that you live is yours and belongs to no one else. The Sun, standing alone reminds us of this fact. We are here to shine in our own right and for ourselves. Should we light a path for others? That will be up to them and our ways don't matter but can influence but not that we'd see it. Once we shine, what do we know of where our light goes and who gets burned and who tans and basks in the glory? Oooooooooosh....deep breaths of creative flow and I'm off to the Sunday Market here in Welland and to do what pleases me and mine today. It will involve good food, conversation, and rest. Do yourself a favour and do the same for yourself and those you love while harming none in the process. Your joys should never have to come at the expense of another. The Sun doesn't borrow or steal from another to shine . Happy Sun's Day.
