“The greatest gift you can give somebody is your own personal development. I used to say, "If you will take care of me, I will take care of you. "Now I say, I will take care of me for you, if you will take care of you for me.”
You sit in this hell that you create for yourself and you think you deserve the torture.
The 'you' is me, the 'me' is you. We do this to ourselves.
I cannot take care of you if I do not take care of me.
Who deserves such pain to be thrust upon them?
Do you? Do I? Do any of us?!
When you look at someone you love and you see them doing something like this to themselves it tears you in two.
We all have our processes; they hurt so badly.
But it's time we loved ourselves, stopped the negative chatter and regained the sense and knowing of who we are.
We who know, we need to be better to ourselves. Gentleness and compassion must be turned all inward. You see it's not about running around 'la-la-la, life is a dream and happiness is all that matters'.
No, life is a mystery and we must wander lost for so long in it to appreciate it's essence, to discover it's beauty, to be real within its realities and to apologize to no one.
Someone told me to never change for anyone, today.
I promise a promise made to myself: I will only change in ways that create a better me that I love wholly, not in spite of myself.
It is the simplest, most intricate events in this life that cultivate slowly to make the greatest things happen. These small weavings through time are a treasures we often overlook. Walk each moment in a way that leaves you whole and not wanting. Not always the way it goes but surely the way most rewarding, most memorable and most pleasing when hindsight sits at your feet, beckoning you to understand the lesson.
