It takes courage and trust in one's self to take the leap into fully supporting oneself, inside and out. Trusting ourselves is one of those things we've been trained not to do since we were very young.
Today, however, I am very grateful to know one artistic and strong woman that has been working tirelessly despite all odds and barriers to make her dreams a reality. The focus is the whole and not just the self and I see Virginia's works as being a new wave of what's next for us all. Strong independent, courageous people ready to create and dive into the hard work that comes with it.
The Artists and Mystics
I am always digging in the dirt, it's a good place for me to be. Nurturing soil and seeds. Taking in my harvest and turning it into delicious meals and feeding the people I love and care for. Today I will mix some magic with the soil. I am aware of a project that inspires me. A project that is growing and could use some more help.
It's my very humble opinion that this project and its creatrix are deserving of some helping hands of support and encouragement.
The Fool Walks The City And Becomes The Empress
As an artist and a lover of Tarot I have to admit that I have many decks of cards. I like diversity! Feel free to play around with jokes about the validity of such methods, but I quite enjoy the therapeutic release of a reading in the darkest times when my minds eye cannot see the obvious for the clutter that it's surrounded with. As well as understanding the planets and their various effects over us. Slight energies travel and move us when we least expect it. Should any of this not resonate, do not read any further. For those of you who do understand then please, read on!
I purchased a deck of City Mystic New York cards. If you knew me well, you'd understand the oddness of this purchase. I'm a country lover, definitely not a city mouse. Something about the art though, the photography, it's brilliant. The story woven of The Fool walking the city in her quests. Truly, I love this deck and as I read for others I noticed that there are people who are just naturally attracted to certain decks. This deck is one of those decks that I get excited about when someone chooses them for a reading. Even this country mouse walks from her Shamanic Druid favorites and delves into the Mystic City for the adventure of its readings.
Virginia, as a talented photographer and artist, has captured the esoterics and symbolism so beautifully, each card holds a story and the reader dives in to indulge.
Currently there is a campaign on gofundme as Virginia sets out to create a Paris edition.
As an independent artist I am reaching out for help to make the final push of my second independent card-crafting production, City Mystic • Paris, happen. As a result of some unforeseen changes, I am offering you an early opportunity to invest in this very special project which is so very close to fruition.....
How did we choose the two contrasting photographic styles for this deck? How did we get them to come together as a cohesive 78-piece body of work? Why did we choose photography as the medium? I took some time to answer these and other F.A.Q.'s about the photography of City Mystic • New York.

Some people take offense to the idea of anyone asking for donations. I am not one of these people. There are those out in 'the scene' that ask for donations so that they can take their partner's out for dinners and to pay their rent and bills. This is not what this beautiful and talented woman is asking anyone to do.
Both have been self-reliant in creating their vision and both of their visions of creativity are to help the whole.
Should you feel moved to help, please click on the various links within this article and do so! Every little bit helps and is appreciated.
The artists, the creators in this world, those who are their own personal heroes, mystics and healers....these are those who I adore the most and I will do my part to share and help their dreams come true.
This is their recipe for their own anarchy. You gotta love it!
