I'm not sure where to begin. Perhaps I should start of with a white flag up for those who came before Angelina. Let me say that most people who have had mastectomies and complete hysterectomies are already infected with the horrid disease we know as cancer to the point of no return. They are not in fear for the possibility of the disease. They already are infected, already are suffering, already tired and raw, and just want to survive. This is not a message being sent out to harm those who have made this choice under those circumstances. I have no intentions of furthering your pain and suffering. This entire article will focus on Angelina's 'preventative amputations' and the message its sending to the women of this world.
Last Monday morning was a day like any other day. Then I received a text from a good friend asking if I had heard what Angelina had done this time. 'Oh please, tell me she hasn't cut out anymore of her parts', was all I could think. I don't pay attention to what the celebrities are doing until someone brings it to me. Sure enough, there she was, telling the world that she has now had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed on top of the double mastectomy that was preformed in 2013. This wasn't due to her actually having cancer. No, no dear reader. This was merely a preventative measure she is taking, just in case.
I seem to remember that a preventative measure never meant cutting out ones vital parts. You don't think that our feminine parts are vital? I'm very sorry to hear that and as a strong healthy and aware woman I disagree.
I'm under the impression that 'we are what we eat'. I am of the understanding that our bodies regulate us, and what we ingest, regulates what the body regulates for us.
Usually when we want to prevent a disease we make sure that we are healthy. What does this mean?
Food is more than mere fuel as we have been told. It's more than what keeps us going. It is truly our medicine. Yet when we walk into any type of store where they carry food, we are presented with frozen, boxed and chemically laced foods to fit in with our busy schedules. Yes a home-cooked meal from scratch takes time and care to make. In my home, meals aren't laced with chemicals, additives and preservatives that I set before my family and this is for what I find to be obvious reasons.
The major problem in our health is what we put into our bodies. We cannot starve them and abuse them, then riddle them with processed foods and foreign objects and poisons, while expecting them to love us back. Are we showing our bodies love by jamming them with sustenance it can't even recognize as being natural food?
Does it begin and end with food? Of course not!
Everything in this world is a facsimile. We no longer bake cookies for the smell of it to waft graciously through the house. No, we are offered poisonous scented candles and air fresheners to imitate this for us. Any other natural scent that we could procure on our own is being offered to us in poisonous forms of perfumes, candles, air fresheners, etc. Why is it that we are constantly bombarded by 'synthetic everything' as opposed to all the natural and healthy splendors that surrounds us? Probably because their is no money to be made in the natural way of things. A sure sign of a much bigger issue. Profit comes before everything, especially health.
Note: How do you freshen the house Cari?
Pure Essential oils....for everything from perfume to freshening the air, furniture and carpets and its much more affordable, both on my wallet and my body.
I think therein lies the problem we have in this world. Why is it that we do not understand what it means to be healthy or how we are to get ourselves there? Why do we all need nutritionists, doctors, dietitians, therapists, life-coaches and time-managers? Have we really gone so far away from the natural state of being that we don't know how to truly care for ourselves? Do we really need to cut off our nose despite our face in order to stay healthy? Or in this case, do we really need to slice of our breasts and cut out our wombs despite our feminine power?
Yes that's right, I said our 'power'.
I don't know who to blame for this one. Do I blame medicine, doctors, consumers, corporations, or us, the people buying what we're being sold. Not that anyone needs blaming to come to a solution.
Just a taste of what we're told when we go looking for answers: I asked Google a simple question which has a very easy answer. The answers I received were nothing but fear based.
Question: What do your ovaries do?
Google answers: Loosely: Your ovaries are here to harm you, grow diseases within you and kill you!
The correct answer is:
The ovaries do two main jobs: they make the hormones oestrogen and progesterone, which help to control your cycles, they store your eggs (ova). Each month, from puberty to the menopause, one of the ovaries releases an egg, which travels down the fallopian tube to the uterus.
I decided to look further to see what I could see and to be honest, in not one search did I find anything that would put our ovaries in a positive or sacred light. If anything they are shown as a faulty and damaged body part that is the bane of the feminine existence. Just as the breasts are never good enough for us, being either too big, too small, not enough, too much. We aren't ever happy with anything about ourselves and are constantly projecting that energy, intention and vibe to our parts. That might not be very convincing to you, but to me, it speaks volumes.
I don't take kindly to the fact that when I was experiencing some 'unexplained uterine issues' that the first thing my doctor wanted to do was take out my uterus. I don't appreciate the fact that she was less than impressed when I refused her suggested healing. (8 years later and I still have all my parts and am healthier than ever) I also don't appreciate that this is the norm among women. The first signs of any problems and they are ready to yank out your parts and put you on a chemical hormone replacement therapy. Chemicals to mock the natural state of your being. Chemicals will never be our natural state. They will never replace true healing. I have such a hard time understanding why this is something that so few can comprehend. To me natural is the way to a fulfilled life, while synthetic is a slow march to death. The fact that more women believe in the latter as a cure for themselves with a famous, beautiful spokesperson peddling this information leaves me outraged and weeping for the entire lot of us.
I am angered by the lack of respect so many women have for their bodies. We see our parts as faulty, our genetics damaged, without a chance for correcting them. It's as if this incredible body that we possess has no way of repairing itself! How foolish are we to think that these amazing vessels we are gifted with in this life are so damaged that only foreign ways will cure us! How foolish and how sad. Am I outraged by Angelina and her very publicly announced decision? Yes I most certainly am!
I think being outraged by a public figure's lack of self-respect for her vessel has nothing to do with bashing or insulting her as a person. I don't care about her life anymore than I do about what she ate for breakfast this morning. I do however care a great deal about what she is telling the rest of the women who seem to worship her as the Hera of Hollywood, the Great Mother showing us all how it's done. What Mother-figure, through all of our mythology has ever told us to rip out our parts? None, not even one, ever.
Cancer is a big nasty curse...although I personally want absolutely nothing to do with MSM (shown in the video below) let's just take a serious look at the natural remedies that are out there. Do we really believe that we should be cutting off appendages before making an effort in this way first?
Our bodies truly are temples deserving of the very best foods and natural remedies as our medicines. What we have been taught regarding cancer is a lie. The desperate pursuit that involves scalpels has little to do with the quality of life.
Emotion-filled rebuttals get us nowhere
When I voiced my thoughts about this huge issue over social media I was treated with passive aggression. Feeling as if their journey was not being respected or validated, these women are beaten down by the medical system and running on nothing but fear and possibly regret.
"It's a good thing you have never had this horrendous disease and did not have to make such a choice Cari".
First off, no one has any idea what choices I have made for myself about my health. Perhaps you'll just have to take my word for it when I say that removing my body parts will never be an option and that I will as always, decide to heal myself, from the inside out. In order for me to agree to removing anything from my vessel I will have to know without a doubt that it is the only way, that there is no alternative and that I have exhausted all of my resources.
Please, understand that I am in no way disrespecting your journey as clearly you have been through something long and arduous that no one wants to experience. Let me say though, Angelina has not been though your journey either. She does and did not have cancer. She was in no way under threat of cancer, the inheriting of the BRCA-1gene is not a death sentence and sufficient studies have not been done to show it's detriment inconclusively.
I'm not saying that everyone who has had their parts removed is some kind of evil. I'm saying that what the U.N. fed Jolie is peddling to the masses is frightening and in no way a common solution that women should be running to. We are teaching our daughters, sisters. nieces and cousins that not only is everything in society 'throw-away' if it can't be fixed, healed or repaired but that 'everything' includes our most sacred parts.
Nothing about Jolie's many 'ectomies' is sacred. Mechanical and technical perhaps, leading us into an age of Trans-humanism and those virtual helmets that appeared in the film Demolition Man. (1993)
So now what?
The very idea that breast cancer is a “percent risk” is a complete lie. In reality, everyone has cancer micro-tumors in their bodies, including me and including you. Cancer is not a disease you just get as if you were randomly struck by lightning. It’s something you must manage or prevent day by day, meal by meal, through a lifestyle choice that involves knowing your body, what it runs on well and what makes it lag. The avoidance of cancer-causing chemicals and radiation treatments is one of the things on the 'Don't Try' lists as well.
Even Jolie, with her BRCA1 gene that’s linked to breast cancer can very easily follow a dietary and lifestyle plan that suppresses BRCA1 gene expression. It’s not rocket science my friends! It’s not even difficult.
I'm sure that this article will make a few readers uncomfortable for various reasons. I say good. Now let's talk about it more openly. I can't imagine having my daughter coming to me to tell me that her parts are infected and they need to come out, before even working to better her body. Our lives and bodies are not throw-away. Many of us might act like they are, but truly, these gifts are as precious and delicate as any new born creature. We must forget that truth as we grow up. Maybe it's the idea as we grow that we somehow become indestructible in the delusions of our teenage years which filters into our adult minds. We are all precious, delicate and fragile with the right to live the very best life we can live. We, as a society, need to remember what that entails, and remember that we came from this earth and we will go back to it. How do you want to return to her? Whole and thankful. or in pieces and filled with regrets and longing?
I'm sorry Angelina, you are not a hero for women. You are not a hero for Mother's. You are more like Mrs Potato Head and your parts are removable and interchangeable. I don't see the respect of the Divine Feminine here. I see her decay and disrespect.
